End of February update

So here we are at the end of Feb, so I thought I should update on my progress on the below 52 things- 52 weeks challenge. 

Sorry in the delay in writing this up- don't seem to get 5 minutes these days! 


Me 

1- To have a date night with my husband at least once a month.
February- well we didn't really have one this month - failure! But we did go out when we could and did go and see greatest showman again. This month has been difficult with us all being poorly as well. :-( 

2- Try and create a new meal every month
Again- this hasn't happened! Oh dear. must do better! This again due to illness really. 


3- Bake a different dessert each month
-Oh dear 3 on the trot now... 

4- I'd like to watch 5 movies (new or not seen in ages every month)

Ok so new films watched
1. Hidden Figures- amazing film, really enjoyed it. 
2. The Graduate- i have seen this many times, but not for a while, so one of my haven't seen ina  while films. Such a great score and direction for this movie. 
3. 50 Shades freed - saw this with my bestie at the cinema. I know everyone has their own opinions on the books and films, but to be honest it was ok! They left a bit of detail out of the books again, but overall not bad. Some pure cheesy dialogue, but hey we enjoyed them all. 
4. Say anything - classic 80s John Cusack teen movie- never seen it and thought it was pretty interesting actually. 
5. Lilo and Stitch- now don't gasp but I had never seen it! Me and Beck sat and watched it and again i liked it, but not one of my fave disneys by a long way! 

5- Read 5 new books ( 3 own choice, 1 recommended and 1 I should have read).
Lol still on Darker- which Im gonna be honest I've lost interest in. Maybe I should give up? Start something else. 

6-Linking to my health goals- join up to a 5k challenge/ sponsored challenge and raise money for charity
Not done, need to look into this 
7- Learn 3 new hairstyles
I really have been trying with this, but so far I am failing- maybe i'm just horrendous with hair.

8- Buy new work clothes
Not needed as yet- back to work in June 
9- Enjoy special days with my friends arranged instead of birthday/ xmas presents.

Going to liverpool on saturday with Amy- excited!

Health 

10- Drink more water at least 6 glasses a day
Really not been happening. I am terrible with drinking altogether, particularly when looking after the kids- must do better! 
11- Complete toning exercise every other day
I have just started to do more! 
12- Cardio every other day at least 30 mins
Have been trying but again with illness it's been difficult, Going to do some tonight. 
13- Measure inches on body in January- aim to lose inches and be happy in own skin
I have measured and also know what I weigh now too! 
14- Join the gym- go swimming twice a week
This will need to be when I go back to work due to affordability. 
15- Attend post natal check 
Completed! 
16- Attend hospital appointment post birth
Completed! 
17- Eat fruit portion daily
Not happened- need to seriously get my act together. 
18- Look for another exercise class to join
Genuinely been looking, but hard to fit in currently 
19- Try and limit bread to 2 slices a day
Genuinely been trying my best- only slipped on a few days ( ahem like today)
20- Keep taking my iron tablets till better
Complete 

Completed 4/11- boooo!

House 

21- Replace lintel above the front door
22- Render the front of house
23- Get windows/ doors quote
Windows have actually been fitted now, but Beckitts window was smashed and is stil yet to be sorted. Bit annoying We are also awaiting the stained glass one to come back. 
24- Put up new pictures from christmas
Completed 
25- Replace essensi pic and move it elsewhere
Moved above tv in backroom. Replaced with new family portrait. 

26- Continue to improve back garden and put up disney signs
27- Buy storage for the garden
28- New carpet in our bedroom
29- Put up shelving in Mia's room
30- Buy a toy box for Mia




Family 

31- Take Beck/ Mia swimming every month
32- Take Beck/ Mia for picnic
33- Day out to old holly farm
34- Liverpool day out/ stay go to mattel liverpool play
35- Potty Train Beckitt
We have resorted to pull ups, as we're going on holiday next month and he just isn't ready. 

36-Go to a xmas market
37- Go see summer holiday with family
38- Arrange Mia's christening / choose and ask godparents
Godparents all asked with a keyring from Mia asking them :-)

39- Create 1st year book for Mia
40- Complete Mia's second of the day for a year
Continuing with this- doing ok so far! Mia is 15 weeks tomorrow...  
41- Look/ choose nursery/ school for Beck
Looked around one local nursery so far- need to look around some more yet.

42-Open Mia bank account and add money each month when back at work.
Opened account will start adding money when back at work. 


Holiday - not till April. 

43- Watch the new fireworks
44- Eat somewhere new- 2 places
45- Buy Mia a xmas shopping
46- Buy a new bauble
47- Ride the astro orbiter- as for some reason I never have?
48- Ride the new rides in Pandora in Animal Kingdom
49- Buy xmas presents and be organised at least 5
50- Meet the talking mickey
51- Do the pearl experience in Epcot
52- Get to attend the flower and garden festival.

End of January update

So here we are at the end of January, so I thought I should update on my progress on the below 52 things- 52 weeks challenge. 


Me 

1- To have a date night with my husband at least once a month.
January date night was a lovely meal at Miller and Carter followed by a trip to the cinema to see The Greatest Showman- lovely evening. Well needed as we have been constantly potty training our toddler- which has sucked! The food was awesome and the movie blew me away!

2- Try and create a new meal every month
January meal was a Tom Kerridge recipe for southern fried chicken, it worked well, But might try a different cut of chicken next time. But yummy- and did it by myself!


3- Bake a different dessert each month
- This hasn't been completed :-( So I'm gonna need to up my game next month and try something new. Added to the fact we've been trying to be healthier- I'm sort of happy I haven't completed this. lol

4- I'd like to watch 5 movies (new or not seen in ages every month)

Ok so new films watched
1. Table 19 - What a fantastic film.
2. Florence Foster Jenkins- actually really enjoyed it.
3. Pirates of the Caribbean- Dead men tell no tales- really really enjoyed- back to it's best!
4. The greatest showman - well as already said, I loved it- and that much were going again next week and taking my brother to see it.
5. High School Musical 123 - I decided as my not seen for ages film, to try these again! It's been a long time and to be honest maternity leave although I love my children more than anything can get somewhat repetitive. Watching these films again gave me a little bit of light relief that was very much needed.

5- Read 5 new books ( 3 own choice, 1 recommended and 1 I should have read).
Book currently reading is Darker by E L James. I know I know- but I read the original trilogy and got it bought for me for xmas, so anyway I'm reading that currently. (Between potty training, changing nappies etc etc etc )

Not started as yet

Doctor has advised against belly exercise at the moment.

Ermmm. managed to fit in 2 weeks ago a 3 minute dance/ fitness session in my back room.? Need to improve drastically.

I have measured and also know what I weigh now too!

Continuing with this- doing ok so far! Mia will be 10 weeks old tomorrow. Time is flying!
41- Look/ choose nursery/ school for Beck
42-Open Mia bank account and add money each month when back at work.

Ok so, as it's been currently 6 weeks tomorrow since I gave birth to my second baby and have my post natal check next week- so in terms of the health related things I will start them next week all being well.
